SEDATION DENTISTRY

Safe and Comfortable Sedation and Anesthesia in the Convenience of Our Dental Office

Patients are monitored using state-of-the-art equipment, equivalent to that found in the most modern hospital operation rooms. In addition, a full complement of emergency drugs and medical equipment is immediately available. Safety is enhanced by the fact that our undivided attention is on the patient.

We offer services which span in the full spectrum of anesthesia, from conscious sedation to a full general anesthesia. Because of the newer anesthetics now available, safety is further enhanced, and recovery time is greatly reduced. Our patients are carefully attended to by our Board Certified Anesthesiologist until fully awake, stable and ready to go home (typically in 15 - 30 minutes) accompanied by a responsible adult.

Who can benefit from I.V. Sedation and General Anesthesia

Patients who have apprehension, anxiety, or fear:
With anesthesia, patients can safely enjoy going to the dentist (with even complex procedures) and have no memory of the procedures performed.

Children:
Young patients who are fearful or unable to tolerate routine dental care and are unable to cooperate for longer and more extensive procedures - general anesthesia removes memory of the entire procedure and the child is happier, with a better attitude toward the dentist.

Patients with gagging:
Anesthesia depresses the gag reflex

Noneffective local anesthetics:
Patient's who are allergic to local anesthetics and those who cannot be numbed can have their treatment done without pain and fear of reactions.

Physically and Mentally Challenged:
These patients are at risk under the stresses of dentistry. With anesthesia, they are relaxed, comfortable, better able to tolerate treatment and less likely to experience an adverse reaction.

Busy Patients:
Effective time management is a major benefit. Anesthesia provides the ability to combine multiple appointments into one. Several months of dental visits can be accomplished within hours.

A Commitment to Excellent Care

Each patient is treated with respect and personalized care. Once you have been scheduled, the anesthesiologist will call you (usually the evening before) and review you medical history. Occasionally this review of your medical history will need to occur sooner to allow time for a consultation with your physician or other medical specialist. The anesthesia or sedation is tailored to your specific needs; keeping your safety in mind - always
Easy Convenient Scheduling

For you convenience, scheduling is handled through our dental office. It is important to keep your appointment - as two or more doctors have coordinated their schedules, setting aside a large block of time for you.

Financial and Insurance

Fees for anesthesia services are based on time. You will receive an estimate of the fees before treatment, and payment in full (for anesthesia and dental treatment) will be expected on the day of treatment.

Even though insurance coverage is anticipated, the patient is asked to cover the entire expense of their visit on the day of service. We will, however, be glad to coordinate any insurance for you when applicable. For your convenience we offer NO INTEREST FINANCING (OAC) and all major credit cards accepted.
